at The Etlin Gorge, 179 Teddington Park, Toronto

Attendees: JH, CH, DE, DB, DF, DW, DG, WC, JMc, IMc, about 4 others.

1. Welcome by David Etlin and Dave Browne.
2. Layout visit to The Etlin Gorge
   • Built and operated by David Etlin,
   • with help from Dave Browne and Doug Campbell

3. Business:
   • December 27 Meeting:
     • JH: Have flyers. Note date and place change from newsletter.
           Looking for O or G scale presenter.
           - Maybe David MacLean?
           - David Etlin has friend?
     • CH: City Hall meeting room is nice.
     • JH: Want to put on a slide show.
   • Winter Meetings:
     • JH: Need locations for January, February, March, April, June, not May. Maybe some further east?
     • DB: Hornet Hobbies? 3 groups meet there.
   • December 27 Meeting:
     • Brochures at Scarborough Model Railroaders open house?
       Ian will ask.
   • Shows:
     • JH:
       • Don't know if CARM will be at Hobby Show or Christmas Train Show.
       • Hasn't heard back from John Johnson, George Stephenson, Lex Parker or Ridly.
       • CHRA spring show will be small.
     • CH: Spring show is moving. There will be a small one at the Congress Centre in March (27th?). Show is moving to Skyway Centre at the end of September (new).
     • DE: Not well publicized last year, and confusion over what door to use.
     • CH: Jack Bell was ill, so it was done by a new person.
     • JH: Should we go to show? 3 of us are at other tables, 1 will be away.
   • Financial:
     • JH: Still no funds from national.
     • IMc: Don't know how many members. 30?
     • IMc: Expenses: Attendance book, copying, newsletter, flyers.
   • March Show:
     • DF: Need plan for what to take.
     • IMc: Flyers? Models? Photos? Adapt TPUG sign he made and stores?
     • DF: Need mockup.
     • JH: Use CARM logo.
   • T-Shirts:
     • JH: Have T-Shirt logos, but have to iron on within 5 minutes of printing. One sheet makes 6 shirts. Logo is black. Bring shirt to November meeting.
     • CH: Should do colour.
     • JH: Only black worked.
     • JMc: Wash shirt first.
     • CH: Cotton best.
   • Future Meeting Places:
     • JH: Toronto Terminal Railways tour?
     • DE: CN and CP wouldn't allow NMRA tour. Steam Whistle? TRHA (formerly TRHC) Museum?
     • DW: Work not started yet - complications.
   • Future Meeting Topics:
     • Joel Rice (CHRA) - operating steam locomotives Joel ran steam commuter trains in Poland twice.
     • Gary ? - Project engineer for GO Transit proposed West Toronto flyover.
