[Web Sites] [Publications] [Case Summaries]
During the course of Emily's treatments we spent a lot of time researching other rhabdoid cases. The summary table below was created from information we collected from various medical journals and rhabdoid children's webpages in an attempt to organize the cases and treatment details we've come across (see bibliography for further sources).
Disclaimer: We are not medical doctors, and we assume no responsibility for the accuracy of the information presented here. This list is by no means comprehensive, and is NOT meant to be an endorsement of any particular treatment. For a number of reasons (tumour location, dissemination, previous chemo, new research results, etc) your child's treatment may differ from that of another child. If you plan on discussing with your child's oncologist a treatment presented here, keep in mind that a medical professional is (quite understandably) likely to be skeptical of "something you saw on the Internet" -- it's in your best interest to find a respected medical opinion or published journal article to back you up.
Bill Guzak, Sam Guzak's father, is also working on a similar project, and is seeking treatment details from parents or doctors. Please visit his Rhabdoid Page and contribute if you can. The more rhabdoid information we can make available out there for families trying to research this disease, the better.
The Childhood Cancer Group (CCG) Registry is an official registry run by Dr. Joanne Hilden, Dr. Jackie Biegel, and Jan Watterson. They are interested in hearing from any rhabdoid parent whose child is not already listed in their registry. The registry, which will be made available to medical professionals, hopes to document as many rhabdoid cases as possible, an important step in finding the most effective treatment for rhabdoid. If your child was diagnosed with rhabdoid, please consider registering by contacting Jan Watterson at St. Paul Children's, 651-220-6732.

Note: Although there are many more online rhabdoid children than we've listed, we've been necessarily limited to those children whose parents provide details of treatment information on their pages. We prefer not to ask parents for more info unless they contact us first, and for this reason not all children with webpages have been included here. If we've missed something, if we've gotten something wrong, or if you'd like us to add an entry for your child or wish to provide further details regarding your child's treatment, please email us. Likewise if you'd prefer to have your child's entry removed from this table, please let us know.
